iGaming market regulation

2019 – regulation Swedish iGaming market regulation

The operators that had applied for the license and needed help to meet the demand from the regulator. The challenge was to register all players with the Swedish e-ID called “BankID” to get name and date of birth – as well as address to see if the player was living in Sweden.

In this case – e-ID for onboarding replaced the usual way of logging in with username and password.

The benefits

No more lost passwords and double accounts and it also undermine the fraud possibility with bonus hunting since the e-ID are unique to each individual. In the registration phase we also automated the address check eliminating need for the player to type in their address since the process is auto-filled with the help of local government registers.

We also created an AML solution where they use our Nordic pep and sanction screening solution when they player does their first deposit, and it takes away all false positives since we search on personal identity number instead of date of birth.

Easy, Quick and Efficient

With the help of our solutions operators can now onboard a new player within 10 seconds and at the same time do a full KYC thus staying compliant.

Education

As the COVID19 pandemic continues to take hold across the globe the education system has been forced to either shut down completely or move into the virtual world and hold classes online.

Basic services such as class registration, live instruction, and testing now require verification of identity to preserve the sanctity of the education process itself.

Honesty and integrity can be maintained via the ZignSec Online ID Scan, helping to ensure your student is who they say they are.

Our Challenge

A leading UK university, knowing that distance learning was inevitable, wanted to be able to issue certification documents to their students who were located across the globe.

In order to ensure the individual completing the coursework and receiving the final certification were indeed the same person, the university needed to verify the student’s identity virtually.

Solution

By utilizing the ZignSec Online ID scan the university was able to identify and verify their students via submission of either a passport, driver’s license, or national ID card followed by a selfie to confirm facial recognition.

Once the student’s identification was confirmed the university released a unique URL where the student was able to access their course certificate. All results were managed inside the ZignSec portal for easy access to statistics and relevant data for the university.

Age Verification

Generation Z is online more frequently via services and devices. The internet nowadays creates both opportunities and risk for minors.

Safety, well-being and the ability to access various sources of information. Age verification software confirms the age of a consumer to deny access to products or content that isn’t suitable for them.

Basic age verification software quickly determines the online consumer’s age by referencing public databases.

Easy-accessibility, and overnight shipping has revolutionized how businesses operate.

However, it has also opened unforeseen challenges for age-exclusive products and services: alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, internet pornography, to name a few.

The regulatory authorities in many developed countries now legally expect age-restricted products or service providers to know the consumer’s age, including online sales.

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

With the introduction of artificial intelligence and machine learning, the tech is only getting smarter at verifying the real age of a customer.

For instance; an online knife retailer was slapped with a fine of $25,000 for selling a knife to a 13-year-old.

In a sector where conversion rates are key, maintaining a seamless user experience during these age checks is crucial. One of our clients needed an age verification for their +18 product, which is an non regulatory industry. They were struggling with identifying the consumer to make sure he/she was +18 years old.

With a robust age-verification system, legitimate buyers can seamlessly buy products without facing processing hiccups and clunky interface issues. This, in turn, will result in higher satisfaction rates, better conversion, and eventually, more revenue.

There is different verifications methods to identify a consumer. You can use eIDV and Document verification or register check. ZignSecs platform aggregates the best available verification and data provider per market and can combine these single solutions to a powerful workflow specific to your business and market – through only one API. We don’t only provide them with the best identification methods, we also let them grow with them.
